For the construction of a new home, the owners wanted to blend modern architecture and nature to create a truly unique landscape. By sculpting the architecture to fit the landscape the owners were able to take advantage of the profound views and vistas of the forested shoreline. To reinforce and stabilize the steep slope, the owners were looking for something that would provide a soft, natural look rather than hard armor options like concrete or steel. The owners wanted to keep the existing trees along the shore and wanted easy waterfront access. Envirolok was chosen to give the support and stability they needed while providing a natural landscape that would enhance the shoreline and easily work around the trees. To begin construction, Envirolok bags were filled with clear gravel and installed below the waterline to stabilize the toe of the slope. Above the waterline, the Envirolok bags were stacked and secured using geogrid to reinforce and stabilize the slope. Once the system was in place a custom grown native vegetated mat that featured a mix of low meadow grasses and wildflowers was installed. This allowed for a fully

vegetated look on the very first day of completion.
